I offer a free 30 minute consultation to allow you to ask questions and discuss your goals for therapy. This is also to assist you in determining if our relationship will be a good fit. The most important part of therapy is to have a strong connection with your therapist. Research has shown that the strength of the therapist and client relationship is the strongest predictor for success in therapy!
$150 for 50 minute session

I also understand that economic difficulties and concerns can limit individuals, couples, and families to seek counseling when needed. To meet this need I offer a reduced fee based on income. Currently all reduced fee slots are full. There is currently a waiting list.

I am an out-pocket-provider for fee-for-service. What this means is I do not charge your insurance company directly. Services may be reimbursed by your insurance company as an out-of-network benefits, health savings account, or flexible spending accounts. To inquiry about these benefits contact your insurance provider.
Most insurance companies will not cover couples or family therapy.
Benefits of fee-for-service
Insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis from the DSM-IV-TR (Diagnostic Statistical Manual for Mental Health Disorders) to pay for counseling services. This diagnosis is required within the first few sessions of therapy and then becomes part of your permanent health record. At times individuals have been denied life insurance and other benefits due to a mental health diagnosis. Based on this diagnosis the insurance companies determine the length of treatment for each client. As each client is a unique case it is difficult to determine the length of treatment at the onset of therapy. This may result in the insurance company stopping payment for therapy services when a client is still in need of treatment.
As a fee-for-service provider I do not have to give you a mental health diagnosis. This enables you and me to determine the length of treatment and not your insurance company. This includes creating a unique treatment plan based on each individual client's needs and not a plan based on the statistical research of the average client. The insurance companies will not have access to any of your private health records unless you choose to release the records. This assures that everything discussed in your therapy is confidential.
Choosing fee-for-service guarantees the highest confidentiality surrounding your therapy. It also assures that you are not denied any other benefits or services due to an existing mental health diagnosis.
I have two slots available for this need. Please call to inquire about cost and current availability.
All fees are due the date of service. Cash, check, or credit card (Including HSA and FSA) accepted!
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
